2017 Week #17

The connection issues on BlogTalkRadio are starting to get more and more frustrating, and Jason and I are going to have to discuss alternatives because the show is suffering as a result.  We're both frazzled and frustrated by the time we finally connect, and it sounds crappy when we're trying to reconnoiter and gather ourselves.  Anyhow, this year Jason took over coin-flipping duties for Week 17, dubbing it the "Coin of Privilege" because instead of my lucky dime, he used a quarter, shoving his unearned higher wages in my face.  But I channeled my inner MLK and carried on in the face of such undignified behavior.  Here, after all the trials and tribulations, are the picks for the last week of the regular season, where Jay and I battle on eight games:

I don't know what it is about our show that makes guys want to call and start talking about gay sex, but it happened for the second time on this week's podcast.  Jason and I got fooled into discussing the play of Steelers safety Mike Mitchell, but that was just a distraction to allow our caller to start remembering the day Mitchell was drafted, and what he was doing on that day.  If you need to listen to that, it's in the first ten or fifteen minutes.  But it's best for all of mankind if it's skipped.  Here are our Week 15 NFL picks, which see us against each other on eight picks after Thursday, including a LOCK-OFF!

Jason and I did a megashow this week, combining our Week 13 recap with our Week 14 picks, and I guess it overheated the BlogTalk Radio site because we lost use of our sound board halfway through.  But we managed to get our picks in anyway.  There will be two games that will function as de facto Pick-ems because they have QB issues severe enough that no sportsbook was offering odds on them at the time of our show.  This resulted in what we believe is our first double contingency pick on the same team, because neither of us is going anywhere near the Buffalo Bills if they're forced to start Nathan Peterman at QB due to Tyrod Taylor not being able to post.  We've seen enough of that shit.  Here are the rest of our NFL Week 14 picks, where we go heads up on only four games:

Jason and I welcomed a new caller to the show who displayed the most passionate defense of Geno Smith you could ever imagine.  It takes all kinds, I guess.  No matter how unusual, though, I always appreciate when someone new decides to call the show.  Jay and I are truly doing what we love, and to have people around the country who don't know us at all call in and share is kinda awesome.  Every show grows at its own pace, but no matter how slow, we really do have respect and gratitude for all who catch on to us and like what they hear.  Here now, our Week 13 NFL picks, where Jay and I disagree on six games:
