2015 Week #8

Our spooky Halloween picks show was once again a success.  We were able to break down some teams that will not see any further analysis the rest of the year because of their frightful play, and Jay's daughter added the cute factor.  At the end of the show, we disagreed on a scary number of games for Week 8 in the NFL:

2015 Week #7

The parity in the NFL continues to produce less-than-compelling matchups from week to week.  Due to three undefeated teams being on bye this week, there is only one game featuring two teams with winning records.  It made it very hard to decide on spotlight games for our podcast.  Luckily, Jason's daughter went the extra mile to shoot the "cute factor" through the roof for our show.  Here are our picks for a putrid Week 7:

Thu. Nite Falcons @ Saints

Jay and I shared our thoughts last night via text as I sit here in a hotel room in Hot Springs, AR.  We're both shunning the undefeated Atlanta Falcons in order to side with the homestanding New Orleans Saints, who receive 3 1/2 as the home underdog.  Jason said he was always going with the 'Aints if the spread reached more than three points since they always seem to play close games.  My logic as always is a little more numbers based:  I can see a back-and-forth shootout because New Orleans is just as potent through the air as the highly lauded Falcons.  In fact, Drew Brees and Luke McCown have thrown for 100 yards more on the season than Matty Ice, and neither pass defense is stoning the opponent.  In this case, with the division rivalry and always daunting Superdome crowd, I'll side with the Saints.  Plus, I gotta support our new friends my wife and I met on the dinner boat who were from Louisiana and were celebrating 44 years of marriage.  Keep rolling, you two, keep rolling.

Check out our podcast Saturday night for the rest of our Week 6 picks.  And we're proud to announce that you can now find our show on the TuneIn app!

2015 Week #5

In Week 5, Jay and I go heads up on five games, which is fitting.  I'll be looking to overtake him for the lead on the season while he will try to hold me off a little longer.  We have a lot of games on which we agree this week, but where we diverge, we diverge wildly.

2015 Week #4

It's a week which Jason lovingly called "craptastic" because of the lack of quality games, and it points out how much parity is in the league at the moment because it's not like there were all these great teams on bye this week.  Only two teams have a bye, and one is shitty too (Tennessee).  There just aren't very many squads that have distinguished themselves at this early stage of the year.  Only one game features two teams with records above .500, and I'm calling that game a squoosh as my Lock of the Week.  Here are our picks for Week 4 in the NFL:
