Thu. Nite Chiefs @ Chargers

San Diego is a 9-point favorite versus Kansas City, and that's really big considering how the Bolts have been playing lately.  In a divisional matchup with a lot of storylines, I'll try to keep this one simple.  As bad as San Diego's been, Kansas City has been worse.  This should be a careful, low-scoring gruntfest between two coaches trying not to fuck up on a national stage.  Since the two QBs, Matt Cassel and Philip Rivers, haven't been able to throw the ball into the proverbial ocean, I see a run-heavy slugfest, and I will favor Ryan Mathews running against the Chiefs over Jamaal Charles running against the Chargers.  NFL.com calls this game "The Desperation Bowl."  Pro Football Talk speculates that SD coach Norv Turner may be booted if he loses.  Makes a boring game kinda interesting.  Also making it interesting: Jason is going with the road dogs, calling it a 19-14 Chargers victory but Chiefs cover.  I don't trust KC to even find the end zone tonight.

My Pick:  San Diego 17-6
