Thu. Nite & Sat. Nite Pix

Jay and I had events that precluded us from having a recap show this week.  I was celebrating becoming a man this past Tuesday night, and Jason was preparing for Christmas with his family last night.  So we have our picks for the night games for Week 16 ahead of our live podcast at 10P Eastern/9 Central this coming Saturday night for the rest of the week's games.  First, our records for the season:  With an impressive 9-5-2 against the spread for Week 15, I am now at 118-100-6 for the season, good for a .541 percentage.  Unfortunately, with a 10-4-2 week, Jason has tied me with the exact same season record.  Furthermore, my beloved Bears decided to get lit up through the air by the worst passing attack in football by the numbers, so my Lock of the Week went down in flames, while Jason won his.  So I'm two back in locks with two weeks to go, meaning if I can't gain a lock on Jason each of the next two weeks, he will earn an extra point to start the playoffs under our scoring system, making our potential tie for the regular season moot.  Who came up with this dumbass Locks idea anyway??  Well, on to our early-game picks.

San Diego (4-10) +5½ @ Oakland (6-8)

Neither team has a shot at the postseason, so any motivational storyline should make a difference here, and as we know, the Raiders are on the same track as the Rams and Chargers to leave their home cities after this season as their respective owners look for new stadium deals.  St. Louis and San Diego went out winners before emotional crowds, and those two audiences should pale in comparison to the emotion that Raiders fans will show tonight, not because they love the Silver and Black more but because Oakland Raiders fans are fucking nuts anyway.  Add on the Charles Woodson retirement, which would make this his last home game, and there should be plenty to push the Raiders past a Chargers team already beat up on the road in a very short week possibly drained from their own emotional goodbye this past Sunday.  Jay and I will both take the Raiders and give the points, and I'll be looking forward to one last catch at WR by one of the most versatile athletes of his day, Woodson.

My Prediction:  Oakland 23-14

Washington (7-7) +3 @ Philadelphia (6-8)

On Saturday night, the shitty NFC East can be decided if the Redskins knock off the Eagles.  But Philly is still alive if they get the home win.  The Eagles have the home field, and they have the motivation, and they're playing a team that's not very good.  Problem is, the Eagles aren't very good either.  They're also getting beat up, as they might have to play without NT Bennie Logan and CB Byron Maxwell.  The Skins have been running a little better, so they could have an advantage there, but what they've been doing best since DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed got healthy is airing it out with Kirk Cousins, and Jay and I both like that.  We'll take Washington and the points to clinch that horrible division and give all football fans a belated Christmas present of not having a potential Sunday nighter in Week 17.

My Prediction:  Washington 31-28

See you all Saturday night for our Week 16 show!  blogtalkradio.com/inmuchlessdetail
